List Update!

Nope Ika-chan, I've already added some anime to the list!
I want to give a special thanks to my friends at Anime Nation for making some suggestions as well, which I added to a list for consideration (above).

New and improved list with pages!

I finally got off my keister and edited the list into links and separated them according to the language options available.  I moved the original list post into their own pages (links in navigation menu above) that I will update from now on, so the original post may become dated.   The blog itself will contain reviews and thoughts on individual anime or kid friendly topics in general.

As always, comments or suggestions for the list or kid friendly anime in general are welcome.

Kid Safe Anime

Here is a list of anime that is kid safe.   When my young niece came to me and asked me if I could recommend some anime for her to watch, I realized that the majority of anime I have seen (over 400 titles) was grossly inappropriate for young children.  So I decided to compile a list anime I felt was safe for her, and also pretty entertaining.

When I say kid safe, I mean there is no overt sexual content, horrific violence (shock value, might make exception for disaster type stuff), foul language etc.  I do NOT mean that these anime necessarily treat your child like they are stupid or live in a bubble, some DO have dramatic themes dealing with tragic events or things that any child in the real world may face.

Parents have a wide variation of opinions on what is acceptable for children to watch, so as always exercise due diligence and review all these shows yourself and make up your own mind regarding acceptability.

Japan has a culture where Shinto and Buddhism is very prevalent, if you have a problem with these religions represented, this list does not attempt to filter them or any other religious criteria.

This list is just a foundation, I may create a page with links to information about each one, and maybe create reviews for each on in post format.  But for now, happy watching.  If you have a suggestion or issue, feel free to comment.
